What is Prop 65 and why is it important that all of the products we manufacture and print are compliant with this law?
California Proposition 65 (also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) refers to the California legislation that was intended by its authors to protect California citizens and the State’s drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and to inform citizens about exposures to such chemicals.
Proposition 65 requires businesses to notify Californians about significant amounts of chemicals in the products they purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment. By providing this information, Proposition 65 enables Californians to make informed decisions about protecting themselves from exposure to these chemicals. Proposition 65 also prohibits California businesses from knowingly discharging significant amounts of listed chemicals into sources of drinking water.
All Eco Imprints products sold, as well as the coatings and decorating and printing inks used on our products, have been fully tested and do not contain chemicals at concentrations that would require a California Prop 65 warning label. Some Safe Harbor Level limits have not been fully established by Proposition 65 for all materials used in some of our products, however, we can typically provide, upon request, copies of test reports from accredited, third-party testing labs to verify Proposition 65 compliance of our items.
Even though we produce and ship products to buyers outside the state of California, where less stringent safety regulations are required, every product we deliver maintains full Prop 65 compliance. This policy enables us to minimize all of our clients, and end users of our products, to chemical exposure levels known to potentially cause health risks.
Eco Imprints hereby certifies and guarantees that the above is true and correct. If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
